SWAP 2009: BWOF 10-2008-114

(English)

Beschreibung:

Naja .... so la la ....

Was magst Du besonders bzw.

Verwendeter Stoff:
1,5m leicht-fallender Jersey in lila.

Änderungen an dem Schnittmuster oder am Design:
Nein, keine.

Würdest du das Schnittmuster nochmals nähen? Würdest Du es anderen empfehlen?
Jein.

Pattern Description:
You’ll certainly stand out in this metallic jersey top! The clever front gathering will really make waves. The raised waistline provides a very slimming effect, particularly flattering on women with a long torso (original description from burdafashion.com).

Pattern Sizing:
36-44. I've made a size 36.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, i think so.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Hmmhhh ..... so la la .... there is only one step that wasn't immediately clear: First you seam the back neckline, than you sew together front and back piece and after that you turn the neck edge from the front piece. So this picture by Kay Y helped me to understand how it works. Apart from that the top was traced, cut and sewn in a few hours.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love the front gathering, but i'm not sure about the wide sleeves.

Fabric Used:
1,5m light draping Jersey in purple.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
No, none.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, with modifications. I love the front gathering that makes this top very special and fashionable. But the sleeves are not so my style. I think i will sew this top again, but with a different solution for the sleeves.

Conclusion:
This top is quick and easy to sew - once you've understood how it works. The fitting is good, as it is usual for BWOF patterns, and the front gathering makes it a fashionable and stylish top.
