Schlammschlacht

Wie bereits angekündigt, soll aus dem schlamm-farbenen Sweatshirtstoff eine Jacke für mich werden. Ins Auge gefasst habe ich dazu Burda 11-2005-117. Wie so oft ist der Schnitt nach dem Durchblättern des Magazins gar nicht so in Erinnerung geblieben. Erst Christina's Version aus schwarzem Stepper hat bei mir den Aha-Moment ausgelöst und den Schnitt auf meine To-Sew-Liste katapultiert. Tja, und da verweilte er dann auch seit dem .... bis jetzt .....

As mentioned in my previous post, i want to sew a jacket from the nude colored sweatshirt fabric. I've choosen Burda 11-2005-117. As very often, the pattern didn't caught my eye when browsing through the magazine. But Christina's version made from a black quilted fabric drew my attention to this pattern. Since then, i wanted to sew this jacket ..... and didn't manage to ..... until now .....

Aber irgendwie läuft es mit diesem Projekt nicht so ganz rund. Zuerst habe ich die Anleitung verbummelt (und bis jetzt nicht wieder gefunden) und nun kann ich einfach keine farblich passenden Reißverschlüsse mit Metallzähnchen finden. Und auf Reißverschlüsse mit Plastikzähnchen möchte ich nicht ausweichen. Daher komme ich momentan nicht weiter *grummel*

But somehow, it doesn't work out as i planned. First, i've couldn't find the instructions (until now) and now i couldn't find matching zippers with metall teetch. And i don't want to use zippers with plastic teeth.So, i'm stuck again *sigh*

Auf die Gefahr hin, Eure Hilfsbereitschaft über Gebühr zu strapazieren: Habt ihr eine Idee, wo ich passende Reißverschlüsse finden kann? Kann man Reißverschlüsse färben? Wenn ja, wie sind Eure Erfahrungen?

Back again

Hallo, meine lieben Leser! Ich bin mal wieder infiziert ..... mit dem Nähvirus. Und was mache ich in der Regel,  wenn mich das Nähfieber mal wieder erwischt hat? ...... Genau, erst einmal Stoffe shoppen und Pläne für die nächsten hundert Projekte schmieden ;-)

Hier ist also meine aktuelle Ausbeute (.... eine Bestellung ist noch unterwegs. Aber dazu mehr später ....)

Hello, my dear readers! I'm infected again .... with the sewing virus. And what do I do when the sewing fever got me? .... Right, i go fabric shopping and make plans for the next huundred projects ;-)

So, here is my current fabric delievery ( ....another one is on its way. But more on that later .....)




Der erste Stoff in der Reihe ist ein kitt-/taupe-/schlamm-farbener Sweatshirtstoff für eine Sweat-Jacke nach Burda 11-2005-117. Dank Lia B. ist der Schnitt auch schon kopiert und der Stoff zugeschnitten. Nach einmal vielen Dank für die Schützenhilfe!!!

The first fabric is a sweatshirt knit in some nude color for a jacket based on Burda 11-2005-117. The pattern is already traced and the fabric is cut. Yeah!



Ton in Ton zu dem Stoff oben habe ich noch das Reststück von diesem Strenesse-Seidenbatist ergattert. Der Stoff besteht aus 77% Baumwolle und 23% Seide, ist schön luftig und hat einen edlen Glanz. Leider waren nur noch 1,3m davon übrig. Aber für einen Rock oder ein Top sollte es reichen.

In the same color (or nearly the same color) i've bought this batist from Strenesse. It is 77% cotton and 23% silk, lightweight with some nice shine on it. Unfortunately, it was only a remnant of 1,3m left. But it should be enough to make a skirt or top.



Den Seidenbatist gab es noch in weiteren Farben. Ich habe dann noch 2m von dem Stoff in dieser Farbe mitgenommen. Ich würde die Farbe vielleicht als Hummer bezeichnen .... hat auf jeden Fall einen Stich ins Pinke ..... Angedacht ist dafür Vogue 1220. Mal sehen .....

This is the same fabric like above but in a different color. This one is - i would say - lobster ..... it has same shade of pink in it. Maybe i will make it into Vogue 1220.



Und das Beste habe ich mir zum Schluss aufgehoben: Diesen wunderschönen Viskosestoff in creme mit aufgedruckten Schmetterlingen. Ich weiß, draußen sind schlappe -10°. Aber ich muss dabei an Frühling und Sommer denken :-) Daraus soll nämlich irgendwann mal ein Maxi-Kleid entstehen.

And i saved the best for last: It's a rayon fabric in creme with a beautiful butterfly print. I know that it sounds crazy ... but even though we have temperatures about -10° outside i'm thinking about making it into a maxi dress for spring and summer :-)

So, das war es von der Shopping-Front. Beim nächsten Mal geht es dann mit der Näherei weiter.

Hilfe benötigt ... / Some Help needed ......

Hallo meine lieben Leser! Das ist ja mal wieder typisch: Die Kleine schläft, ich habe Zeit für mich und dann so etwas: Ich möchte gerne als nächstes eine Jacke nach Burda 11-2005-117 nähen. Die schlechte Nachricht ist, dass ich das Anleitungsheft nicht mehr finden kann. Die gute Nachricht ist, dass zumindest alle Schnittmusterbögen da sind. Kann mir jemand von Euch helfen und sagen, welche Teile ich von welchem Schnittmusterbogen kopieren muss?

Hello my dear readers! Isn't it ironic. Finally, my little baby is sleeping and i have some time for sewing and then that ....... i want to sew a jacket from Burda 11-2005-117. The bad news is, i can't find the instructions. The good news is that at least i have the pattern sheets. Can somebody please help me and tell me which pieces i have to trace from which pattern sheet?

Vielen lieben Dank für die lieben Glückwünsche und das herzliche Willkommen unserer kleinen Tochter. Uns geht es allen sehr gut und der kleine Wurm ist aus unserem Leben nicht mehr weg zu denken.

Sie ist jetzt genau 9 Wochen alt und schläft nachts schon sehr gut. Dafür mag sie aber tagsüber kaum schlafen und am liebsten die ganze Zeit von mir herumgetragen werden. Dank meines Tragegurtes habe ich zwar beide Hände frei, zum Nähen reicht es aber leider nicht - habe ich schon ausprobiert ;-) Aber der Näh-Virus hat mich schon wieder infiziert: Ich bin mal wieder beim Stoffe gucken schwach geworden und ein-zwei UFOs habe ich auch fertig gestellt ..... aber dazu später mehr.

Thank you all soo much for the congratulations and the warm welcome of our little daughter. We are all well and can't imagine how live was before she was born.

She is now 9 weeks old and sleeps pretty well at night. However, in turn she refuses to sleep during the day and wants to be carried around the whole day. Thanks to my carrier belt i am not totally occupied with her, but sewing doesn't work - i've tried it :-) But i'm again infected by the sewing bug: I've already went fabric shopping and finished one or two UFOs ..... but more on that later.

Wahrscheinlich habt ihr euch den Grund für meine Abwesenheit schon gedacht: Am 21.11.2011 wurde unsere Tochter Maya geboren. Uns allen geht es gut und wir sind als kleine Familie überglücklich.

You probably already know the reason for my absence: On November the 21th our little daughter Maya was born. We are all well and more than happy as a small family.

 

Dieses kleines Wesen hat unser Leben ganz schön auf den Kopf gestellt, aber mit jedem Tag kehrt mehr Routine ein. Mal sehen, wann ich dann wieder an meine Nähmaschine zurückkehren kann ..... bis dahin werde ich weiterhin eurem Schaffen folgen und Eure Blogs lesen.

Colorblocking - Part II

Und hier ist - wie in meinem letzten Blogpost versprochen - das passende Oberteil zu meinem Colorblocking-Rock:

 

Als Schnitt habe ich Burda 08-2011-120 verwendet und entsprechend abgeändert. Den Schnitt habe ich gewählt, da er so schön schlicht war. Und auch hier wieder meine vorläufige Schnittmusterbesprechung:

Beschreibung:

Schlichte Kastenjacke.

Größen:

Kurzgrößen 17-21. Ich habe die Größe 18 genäht.

Sieht das genähte Kleidungsstück wie auf dem Foto bzw. wie die technische Zeichung aus?

Nur bedingt, da das Oberteil durch meine Änderungen ganz anders wirkt.

War die Anleitung leicht zu verstehen?

Und auch hier habe ich wieder überhaupt nicht auf die Anleitung geachtet.

Was magst Du besonders bzw. überhaupt nicht an dem Schnittmuster?

Den Schnitt habe ich gewählt, da er so schlicht ist und keine Teilungsnähte oder Abnäher hat.

Verwendeter Stoff:

Romanit-Jersey in schwarz, weiß und orange. Der schwarze und orangene Jersey sind Überbleibsel vorangegangener Projekte (schwarzes Kleid und orangenes Kleid).

Änderungen an dem Schnittmuster oder am Design:

Bezüglich der Passform habe ich keine Änderungen vorgenommen. Am Design dann nur die Offensichtlichen, indem ich die jeweiligen Schnittteile farblich geteilt habe.

Würdest du das Schnittmuster nochmals nähen? Würdest Du es anderen empfehlen?

Hmmhhh ..... keine Ahnung. Das hängt doch sehr von der letzendlichen Passform ab.

Fazit:

Ich mag das Endergebnis. Ist mal ein netter Hingucker und hebt sich von den sonst so üblichen Oberteilen durch die Farbwahl ab. Ich muss aber zugeben, dass ich Rock und Oberteil wohl nicht zusammen anziehen werde .... das ist mir dann doch zuviel des Guten.

And here is - as promised in my last post - the matching top for my colorblocking skirt:

For the pattern i've used Burda 08-2011-120 and made some changes. I've choosen this pattern due to its simplicity. And here is my preliminary patternreview:

Pattern Description:

A simple boxy shaped jacket.

Pattern Sizing:

Petite sizes 17-21. I've made a size 18.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

I would say .... no .... due to my changes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

I don't know. It is such a simple pattern that i didn't looked into the instructions.

What did you particularly like  or dislike about the pattern?

I've choosen this pattern for this project due to its simplicity. The pattern doesn't have any seams or darts which would make the seam matching or colorblocking difficult.

Fabric Used:

Ponte di Roma knit in black, white and orange. Again the black and the orange fabric are leftovers from two of my previous projects (black dress and orange dress).

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:

I didn't made any fitting changes. For the design i've only changed the obvious by dividing the pattern pieces due to my color scheme.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Ummmhhhh ...... i don't know. I think it depends on the final fitting.

Conclusion:

I like the final result. I think the top is a nice eyecatcher and something different from my usual tops. But i have to admit that i would probably not wear skirt and top both together ... i think that would be too much for my taste.

 

Colorblocking - Part I

Nach den Näh-Quickies zwischendrin hatte ich mal wieder Lust auf etwas Ausgefalleneres. Und so ist das nächste Projekt entstanden. Inspiriert wurde ich dabei von den Frühling/Sommer 2012-Fashionshows. Hier ist meine Quelle der Inspiration:

Inspiriert durch die obigen Bilder habe ich eine Kombi aus Rock und Oberteil genäht (das Oberteil stelle ich in einem gesonderten Post vor). Für den Rock habe ich Burda 09-2010-116 als Schnittmuster verwendet. Und so sieht das Ganze dann auf dem Bügel aus:

Bleistiftrock mit horizontalen und abgerundeten Teilungsnähten.

Größen:

Wie immer kann ich dazu nichts sagen, da ich mir diese nicht angeschaut habe.

Ich finde die Schnittführung mit den Teilungsnähten sehr interessant. Der Schnitt gefiel mir eigentlich auf Anhieb. Ein Wunder, dass es so lange gebraucht hat, bis ich ihn endlich genäht habe .....

Auch hier wieder unter Vorbehalt bis zur finalen Anprobe: Ja und ja. Vielleicht nähe ich irgendwann noch einmal die Version als Kleid .....

Fazit:

Irgendwie erinnert mich der fertige Rock an die Uniform einer Stewardess (ach nee, das heißt heute ja politisch korrekt Flugbegleiterin) aus den 70ern. Das liegt vielleicht an meiner Farbwahl. Ich mag den Rock trotzdem und hoffe, dass er passt!

After my latest sewing quickies i wanted to sew something more elaborate. And thus, my latest project took shape. It was inspired by the spring 2012 RTW fashion shows. And this is my source of inspiration:

I've made the skirt unlined and omitted the zipper since my skirt is made in a knit. Otherwise, i didn't make any changes.

With reservation until the final fitting: Yes and yes. Maybe i will sew the dress version of this pattern .....

Conclusion:

For some reasons, this outfit reminds me of a uniform of a flight attendant from the 70ies. But maybe that's due to my color scheme. However, i like my new skirt and hope that it fits!
