Ich gebe zu der Titel von dem Post ist etwas blöde .... aber mir fiel irgendwie nichts besseres ein :-) Heute zeige ich Euch ein UFO, das noch auf seine Fertigstellung warten muss. Warum fragt ihr Euch? Weil mir beim nähen nicht nur ein Mal, sondern gleich zwei Mal das Garn ausgegangen ist. Und um ehrlich zu sein .... meine dicke Schwangerschaftskugel zu Fuß in die Stadt zu schleppen, um Garn zu kaufen, scheint mir momentan eine unüberwindbare Hürde *lach*

UFO des Tages ist also ein Rock nach Burda 09-2011-110. Es ist ein einfacher Rock in Wickeloptik mit Blenden. Ich hatte die Idee, die Blenden und Bund mit Ziergarn abzusteppen. Und genau da lag der Hase im Pfeffer. Ich hatte noch eine Rolle passendes Absteppgarn im Fundus und habe losgelegt. Und natürlich ging mir das Garn nach wenigen Reihen aus. Zum Glück war mein Mann so lieb und hat mir in seiner Mittagspause eine weitere Rolle Nachschub besorgt. Aber - wie der Teufel so will - hat diese Rolle nicht ausgereicht und ging kurz vor knapp ebenfalls aus. Jetzt fehlen mir am Bund etwa 1,5 Reihen. Aber was soll's ...... dann muss der Rock eben warten und ihr bekommt heute ein UFO zu sehen .....

Was bleibt noch zu tun? Ich muss noch den Bund zu Ende absteppen und die Knöpfe zum Schließen des Rockes annähen. Letzteres muss warten, bis ich den Rock anprobieren und so die Position der Knöpfe austesten kann. Nichtsdestotrotz ist hier meine vorläufige Schnittmusterbesprechung .....

Größen:

34-42. Ich habe den Rock in Größe 36 genäht.

Sieht das genähte Kleidungsstück wie auf dem Foto bzw. wie die technische Zeichung aus?

Ja.

War die Anleitung leicht zu verstehen?

Der Rock besteht aus einem Rockteil, zwei Teilen für den Bund und zwei Teilen für die Blenden. Also mehr als einfach zu nähen. Dementsprechend habe ich auch gar nicht in die Anleitung geschaut, sondern einfach drauf los genäht.

Was magst Du besonders bzw. überhaupt nicht an dem Schnittmuster?

Ich mag die Wickeloptik und die Blenden.

Verwendeter Stoff:

ca. 1m dunklebraunen Romanit-Jersey. Der Stoff ist hauptsächlich aus Polyester und fühlt sich an wie der Stoff von diesen Adidas-Trainingsanzügen, nur fester.

Änderungen an dem Schnittmuster oder am Design:

Keine.

Würdest du das Schnittmuster nochmals nähen? Würdest Du es anderen empfehlen?

Unter Vorbehalt bis zu finalen Anprobe: Ja und ja. Ich kann mir den Rock gut in vielen verschiedenen Varianten vorstellen: In einer Knallfarbe mit kontrastierenden Blenden (Rot und Lila?) oder aus schwarzem Wollstoff mit schwarzen Lederblenden ......

Fazit:

Ein schnelles und einfaches Projekt .... wenn man sich das Leben nicht selber schwer macht ;-) Der Schnitt ist recht einfach, der durch die entsprechende Stoffwahl bestimmt gut aufgepeppt werden kann. Mein Rock wird bestimmt viel getragen werden, da er sich in seiner Schlichtheit gut kombinieren lässt.

Today, i'm showing you an UFO which has to wait for its final touches. Why this became an UFO you may ask? Because during sewing it i ran out of thread ... not only once, but twice. And to be honest .... walking (by food) into the city with my huge belly seems to be an insuperable barrier these days *lol*

So, UFO of the day is Burda 09-2011-110. A simple wrap mini skirt. I wanted to topstitch the facings. And that was the problem. I had some topstitching thread in the right color in my stash and started. After a few lines of topstitching, i ran out of thread. Nicely, my dear husband went into the department store during his lunch break and bought another spool of topstitching thread. But - near the finishing line - i ran out of topstitching thread again. So, there are about 1.5 lines of topstitching on the waistband missing. However ... it has to wait and you can see the current status of the skirt right now ......

So what's left to do? I have to topstitch the waistband and sew on the buttons. The latter has to wait until i can try the skirt on in order to better adjust the button position. Nonetheless, here is my preliminary patternreview .....

Pattern Description:

Mini wrap skirt with facings.

Pattern Sizing:

34-42. I've made a size 36.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

The pattern consists of one piece for the skirt plus two pieces for the waistband and another two pieces for the facings. That's all. So, it's more than easy. That's why i didn't look into the instructions and just started sewing.

What did you particularly like  or dislike about the pattern?

I like that it is wrap skirt and also like the facings.

Fabric Used:

about 1m of Ponte di Roma knit. The fabric's fibre content is mainly Polyester and it feels like the fabric for these Adidas-Tracksuits, only more stable.

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:

None.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

With reservation until the final fitting: Yes and yes. I can picture this skirt in many variations: In a bright color with contrasting facings (red and purple?) or in black wool with black leather facings ......

Conclusion: 

It's a quick and easy project ...... except you make it harder then neccessary on your own :-) The pattern is simple but can be used in so many ways. I think i will wear my version a lot, because it's very versatile due to its simplicity.
