Gute Vorsätze.....

Hallo ihr Lieben, ich wünsche Euch allen ein frohes neues Jahr, Gesundheit, Glück und Zufriedenheit!

Bei dem ein oder anderen habe ich eine Reihe guter Vorsätze entdeckt. Dem will ich mich auch anschließen....


1. Verarbeitung

Mein oberstes Ziel für das Nähjahr 2009 ist es, auf eine bessere Verarbeitung Wert zu legen. D.h. exakteres Markieren, genaue Einhaltung des Fadenlaufes, besseres Säumen, kein Schludern bei Karos oder Streifen....einfach die Details, die ein selbstgenähtes Kleidungsstück von den Teilen der Massenproduktion abheben.

2. Paßform

Ich gehöre irgendwie zu den Hau-Ruck-Näherinnen. Mir fehlt oft die Geduld, erst den Schnitt exakt anzupassen und dann erst zu nähen. Voller Ungeduld presche ich los, weil ich einfach sehen möchte, wie das neue Kleidungsstück nun aussieht oder weil ich es zu einem bestimmten Anlass unbedingt tragen möchte. In Zukunft möchte ich jedoch mehr darauf achten, dass die Teile wirklich perfekt sitzen. Also erst denken, anpassen und dann erst nähen.

3. Kombinierbarkeit und Tragbarkeit

Ich tendiere dazu, Einzelstücke zu nähen. Trotz vollem Kleiderschrank, habe ich nix zum Anziehen. Das muss sich ändern! Die neue Nähregel lautet also: Jedes neue Nähprojekt muss mit mindestens einem Teil aus meinem Kleiderschrank zu einem Outfit kombinierbar sein.


Tja, wie ihr seht: In der Kürze liegt die Würze! Ich habe bewußt keine Vorsätze zum Stoffkauf aufgestellt. Ich schaffe es eh nicht, an einem schönen Stöffchen vorbei zu gehen - der Geist ist willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach :-D Aber sollte ich die drei Vorsätze erfüllen, werde ich schon sehr glücklich sein. Also, dann auf ein Neues. Wir werden sehen, was in einem Jahr von den guten Vorsätzen noch übrig ist!

I've seen few new years resolutions in blogland. So here is my list.....

1. Workmanship

First of all, i want to improve my sewing skills and construct my clothes with more precision, i.e. exact marking, keeping the straight grain, better seams, more precision when working with plaids or stripes...all those details wich make the difference between a tailored garment and a garment from the textile mass production.

2. Fitting

It seams i have problems with the two P's: Precision and patience. Often i don't have the patience to fit a pattern exactly before sewing. I start sewing because i want to see how the finished garment look like or because i want to wear it at a certain occasion. I really want to stop that. Now, it has to be...think...fit...sew

3. Versatility and Wearability

I tend to sew pieces which aren't as versatile as i need them to be. Although my closet is bursting i don't have anything to wear. This really has to change! Therefore my new sewing rule is: Every new sewing project has to go with at least one piece of my closet to build an outfit.


As you can see: Brevity is the soul of wit. Conciously i don't have any resolutions about buying less fabric. I KNOW that i can't stand that - the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak :-D
Nonetheless i would be glad if i can follow these three resolutions. We will see what's left after one (hopefully) happy year of sewing!
