Presseschau: BWOF 01-2010

Ein paar Tage liegt sie schon unkommentiert hier herum .... die Januar-Ausgabe der Burda (ja, ganz ignorant werde ich sie weiterhin so nennen). Nun, dann will ich mal meinen Senf dazugeben :-)

Wie immer Basteltipps vorneweg. Die Tipps zum Falten und Drapieren finde ich gar nicht mal so schlecht .... und aus ökologischer Sicht, hat auch die Wiederverwertung von Omas Tischdecke eine Daseinsberechtigung ... über Geschmack lässt sich ja bekanntlich streiten :-)

I've received the January issue of BWOF a few days ago .... (ignorant as I am i still call it BWOF). Time to put my two cent's in it :-)

As always some crafty tipps at the beginning. I like the advices how to pleats and drape .... and the advice for refashioning your grandmother's tablecloth makes sense from an ecological point of view .... but does this suits your taste?!

Weiter geht es mit Winterzauber / Winter Magic

Creme und wollweiß haben es mir im momentan angetan, und die Modelle sind schön in Szene gesetzt, allerdings hauen die Schnitte mich einfach nicht vom Hocker .....

Right now, i really love clothes in winter white. The setting looks great as well, but i do not feel the love for these patterns .....

Anschließend stehen Aufregende News ins Haus / Exciting News

Laut Burda bedeutet dies Outfits in schwarz und olive. Die Stoff- und Farbauswahl gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut, aber auch hier: Schnitttechnisch ist für mich wieder nichts dabei .....

It' about outfits in black and olive. I like the fabrics and i like the color combination as well. I also think the outfits are accessorized nicely. But again i do not love the patterns .....

Nun gut, nächste Chance Chefsachen

Und auch hier wieder das gleiche Spiel. Die Stoffe sind ganz nett und die Schnitte auch, aber einfach nicht mein Ding: Zu seriös, zu schlicht, ohne den richtigen Pepp.

Again the same problem. Nice fabrics, but not my cu of tea: too konservative, too simple, without something special and eyecatching.

Danach geht es ab auf die Piste

Tja, würde ich Ski-fahren wäre vielleicht das ein oder andere Stück dabei, aber in Ermangelung irgendwelcher Berge und alpiner Sportaktivitäten kann nichts davon Begeisterungsstürme wecken.

I do not ski and i do not live approximately near any mountains such that my excitements about new ski clothes is quite moderate.

Alle Jahre wieder ist Fasching / Carneval

.... und als bekennender Karnevalsfeind hülle ich mich dazu in Schweigen.

.... and as confessed enemy of carneval i wrap myself into silence.

Anschließend folgt eine weitere Reihe überflüssiger sowie grauenhafter Basteltipps .... hmmmhhh .... die Verschönerung von Stühlen .... okay, die Nieten lasse ich mir ja noch gefallen, aber was bitte ist das?!?

Afterwards, needless and tasteless advices how to "prettify" a chair .... ummmhh .... alright, i can live with the studs, but what the heck is this?!?

Ich bin sprachlos obgleich der Grausamkeit, die mir, meinen Augen, den unschuldigen Mäusen und dem Stuhl angetan wird. Ich erwäge sogar die Leute von Peta zu kontaktieren :-D

I'm speechless due to the cruelty against me, my eyes, the innocent mouses and the harmless chair. I 'm thinking about contacting the people from Peta :-D

Aber Spaß beiseite: Mir wäre es eigentlich lieber die Burda würde sich auf ihre Kernkompetenz konzentrieren (nämlich Schnittmuster). Auch angrenzende Gebiete wie sticken, stricken, häkeln und DIY-Tipps rund um das Verschönern von Kleidung sind ja manchmal interessant. Aber nur weil ich nähe, heißt das nicht, dass ich ein DIY-Freak bin. Nein, ich verschöner keine Stühle mit Mäusen und brauche auch keine Tipps, wie man seine Werkzeuge ordentlich aufbewahrt (Oktober 2009) .... so, das musste ich mal loswerden :-)

All joking apart, i would prefer if BWOF would concentrate on their core competence (patterns). I can also live with stitching, knitting, crocheting and everything about pimping your clothes. But just because i sew doesn't mean i'm a DIY-freak. No, i don't pimp my chairs und i also do not need any advice how to organize my tools (october 2009) .... something i've needed to say :-)

Zu guter Letzt die Serie aus 1 mach 4

Dieses Mal ist das Minikleid dran. Ich weiß nicht, ob das grasgrün zu sehr in meinen Augen beißt, aber auch hier will sich keine Begeisterung einstellen ...... und dabei mag ich diese Serie immer sehr, da sie zeigt, wie man mit wenigen Änderungen und ein bißchen Phantasie einen Schnitt wandeln kann .....

This time it's about the mini-dress. I don't know if the bright green disturbs my eyes but i can't feel excitement about the patterns ... but usually i like this topic because it shows how simple changes and a little phantasy can change a pattern ....

Fazit:
Alles in allem eine enttäuschende Ausgabe - zumindest aus meiner Sicht. Von der Aufmachung her gefallen mir die einzelnen Modestrecken schon, was die Farb- und Stoffauswahl betrifft. Aber schnitttechnisch fällt bei mir nicht ein einziger Schnitt in die engere Wahl. Also, auf die nächste Ausgabe hoffen!

Conclusion:
I think i'm disappointed with this issue. I like the setting and the pictures of the patterns as well as the choice of fabrics and colors. But regarding the patterns there isn't one single pattern i want to sew. I hope i like the next issue more!
