Das Jahr steht kurz vor dem Ende .... Zeit also ein Resümee zu ziehen, was ich so alles genäht habe:

1. Kleidungstyp:
Kleider: 8
Jacken: 4

Homewear: 2
UFO's: 8

Das macht alles in allem 24 fertige Kleidungsstücke. Falls sich jemand die Mühe macht nachzuzählen, von dem ein oder anderem Teil bin ich Euch noch Fotos und Schnittmusterbesprechungen schuldig .... um genau zu sein von zwei Kleidern und drei Oberteilen ..... das wird aber nachgeholt - bestimmt!

Nicht sonderlich überraschend zeigt sich: Ich mag nach wie vor Kleider und Jacken. Die Anzahl der Oberteile ist höher als ich erwartet habe und die Anzahl der UFO's ist - schlicht und ergreifend - beschämend! Daran muss ich echt arbeiten! Hier ist also schon der erste gute Vorsatz für das Nähjahr 2011!

Und es gibt einen glasklaren Gewinner: Burda! So viel ich auch schimpfen, meckern und nörgeln mag .... wenn es zur Schnittauswahl kommt, greife ich instinktiv zu meinen Burda-Heften. Was mich wirklich verblüfft, ist, dass ich nicht einen Schnitt aus der Patrones genäht habe ... seltsam!

2010 is nearly gone .... time to look back what i've accomplished in 2010:

That are 24 finished garments in total. If you take the time to count all the finished pieces you will recognize that i haven' blogged about all of them ... to be honest there are pictures and pattern reviews missing for 2 dresses and 3 tops. But i will catch up on them as soon as possible!

Something not so surprising is that i love to sew dress and jackets. But i did'nt expect that i've made so many tops. And a fact that really is ashaming is the number of UFO's i've produced this year. That really has to stop! So here we have the first sewing resolution for 2011!

Fröhliche Weihnachten / Merry Christmas

Ich wünsche Euch allen ein frohes Fest! Ich hoffe, ihr habt trotz Schneechaos Weihnachten mit Euren Liebsten verbracht und hattet besinnliche und harmonische Feiertage!

I wish you all a merry christmas! I hope you've spent your holidays with your beloved ones (despite all of the snow and chaos on the streets) and that you had a contemplative and harmonic time!

P.S.: Entschuldigt meinen etwas verspäteten Post. Da am Donnerstag erneut Schnee angesagt wurde, bin ich - etwas überstürzt - früher zu meiner Familie abgereist als ursprünglich geplant. Und hier angekommen war ich schwer beschäftigt mit schlemmen, schlafen, lesen und mit meinen zwei kleinen Neffen (3 und 1 Jahr alt) zu toben und zu spielen. Morgen abend werde ich voraussichtlich wieder nach Hause reisen, um mich dann voll und ganz im Nähzimmer zu vergraben!

P.S.: Sorry for my belated post. I left one day earlier then i've originally planned because the weather forecast has procastinated snow (again). And when i've arrived at my family's place i was so busy with eating, sleeping, reading and playing with my (3 and 1 year old) nephews. Tomorrow evening i will be back home, ready to start my sewcation!

Presseschau: 01-2011

Die ersten Tagen meines Nähurlaubs sind rum .... und ich habe nicht viel getan außer lesen, fernsehen und vieeel schlafen. Irgendwie war ich einfach nur müde und antriebslos und wollte mich auch nicht zum Nähen zwingen. Da traf es sich ja ganz gut, dass die Januar-Burda eingetrudelt ist und ich sie in aller Seelenruhe auf der Couch durchblättern konnte. Dann wollen wir doch mal sehen ....

The first days of my sewcation are gone ...... and i didn't do much except reading, watching TV and a lot of sleeping. I didn't felt like sewing and didn't want to force myself to. But the January-Burda arrived. So let's see what we've got ......

Verführung pur

... im Stile der 40er Jahre verspricht uns die erste Modestrecke. Ich mag die Inszenierung der Bilder .....

Rock 114


Mantel 101

.... aber rein Schnittmuster-technisch sind die Modelle oben einfach nichts für mich. An dem ranken und schlanken Model sehen die Teile ja schön aus, bei meiner Körpergröße dürfte das Ganze aber auch schon wieder ganz anders aussehen.

... but regarding the patterns there is not much in for me. The clothes look nice and beautiful on the slim and tall model, but i dont think they would look good on me with my body size as well.

Kleid 103

Ein Schnitt ist jedoch auch für mich dabei: Kleid 103. Ich finde es sehr schön, besonders die Flügelärmelchen und die Schulterpasse .... so schön feminin und verspielt.

But there is one pattern i actually do like: It's dress 103. I like the sleeves and the shoulder yokes ... it's really feminine and flirty.

Ich bleib daheim

.... ist das Motto des nächsten Themas (und könnte auch das Leitmotiv von meinem Weihnachtsurlaub sein ;-) ).

The title of the next topic is "stay at home". This could actually also be the motto of my sewcation ;-)

Hose 124B und Top 120B

Wie dem auch sei, diese Kombi ist fürchterlich. Diesem ganzen Trend mit diesen Harems-/Jodphur- bzw. Sarouel-Hosen (oder wie immer diese Dinger mit tief sitzendem Schritt und Windel-Popo heißen mögen) kann ich einfach nichts abgewinnen - auch nicht für zu Hause auf der Couch. Und dieses Rocky-Balboa-Top macht es auch nicht gerade besser ....

Nonetheless, i think this combo is horrible. I really don't understand this Jodphur/Sarouel trend (or whatever these pants with a low crotch and diaper back are called) - not even for an evening on the couch at home. And this Rocky-Balboa-Top makes it even worse ......

Top 129A

Eigentlich mag ich diese Ausschnittform sehr. Was mir an diesem Schnittmuster jedoch nicht so gut gefällt, ist die "Kragenlösung" und die Falten die sich dadurch auch vorne bilden. Nun gut, das ist wahrscheinlich Geschmackssache und ließe sich mit nur wenigen Änderungen am Schnittmuster beheben.

I like this kind of neckline. But what i dislike is the "collar" and the wrinkles it causes at the upper front pieces. However, this is probably a matter of taste and can be eliminated with small changes an the pattern.

Longshirt 123B
Okay, noch ein "Basic". Dieses hier ist allerdings so basic, dass ich mich allen Ernstes frage, ob ich tatsächlich ein Schnittmuster dafür brauche ....

Alright, there is another basic. But actually it's so basic that i really don't understand why i need a pattern for it .....

Mantel 126A

Der Mantel sieht so schön kuschelig und gemütlich aus. Allerdings habe ich eine Art Déjà-vu. Kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor .... mir fallen da spontan Burda 12-2009-119 und Burda 10-2010-107 ein. Zugegebenermaßen sind die Schnitte nicht identisch, aber doch sehr ähnlich vom Stil her.

This coat looks cozy and comfortable. But i have i slight feeling of a Déjà-vu. Somehow i've got the feeling that i know this pattern already ... ahhh, Burda 12-2009-119 and Burda 10-2010-107 are popping up in my mind. Admittedly, the pattern are not identical, but they are the same style.

Top 122

Der Pulli gefällt mir. Wenn man sich allerdings die technische Zeichnung anschaut, sieht man, dass er nichts anderes als ein einfaches Shirt mit angesetztem Schal ist. Stellt sich mir also wieder die Frage, ob ich für so etwas unbedingt ein Schnittmuster benötige .....

I also like this top. But if you have a closer look at the technical drawing you will see that's just a simple top with an attached scarf. Again my question, if i really need a pattern for this .....

Die Farbe Blau

Neee, hier ist so überhaupt gar nichts für mich dabei .....

Fazit:
Hmmmhhh .... das ist so eine Ausgabe mit vielen, vielen Basics. Nur blöd, dass ich nach über einem Jahr Burda-Abo mehr als genug Basic-Schnitte habe und mich sowas einfach nicht vom Hocker haut ......

Conclusion:
Ummmhhh .... this is an issue with a lot of basics. The problem for me is, that after more as a year of Burda-subscription i have more than enough basic pattern and want something more elaborated .......

Christmas Wishlist (Pic Heavy)

Ja, Weihnachten rückt näher. Und während andere fleißig Wunschzettel an den Weihnachtsmann schreiben, schreibe ich eine Wunschliste an mich selbst ... und zwar, was ich alles in meinen zwei Wochen wohlverdientem Urlaub alles nähen möchte. Natürlich werde ich nicht die Zeit finden, das alles auch tatsächlich zu nähen. Aber irgendwie hilft mir so eine Liste, mich zu entscheiden, welchen Stoff ich wie verarbeiten möchte. Und es hilft mir hinterher, mich eben genau daran zu erinnern. Also, los geht's:

Christmas is coming with large steps. And while others write Santa Claus their Christmas wishlists, i'm painstakingly working on a wishlist to myself .... namely what i want to sew during my 2 weeks of well-deserved christmas holidays. Of course, i will not manage to sew all of it. But writing such a list helps me, to clearify my thoughts and make a decision which fabric i want to use with which pattern. And afterwards, i can take look and remember all of that. So, here we go:

1. Camel Coat

Zunächst einmal möchte ich einen camelfarbenen Mantel nähen. Wenn man den Modemagazinen glaubt, ist das ja DAS Muss für diese Saison. Mein Mantel soll klassisch und ohne viel Schnick-Schnack sein.

First of all, i want to sew a camel coat. If you believe in all these fashion magazines, it's THE must-have of the season. My coat should be classy and without any bells and whistles.

Lekkala 5745

Ich mag die Raglan-Ärmel und den Kragen. Problem ist, dass ich den Schnitt nur in Größe 40 habe (ich bin eine Größe 34) und den Schnitt verkleinern müsste, was ich bisher noch nie getan habe. Außerdem habe ich nch nie einen Lekkala-Schnitt genäht und weiß daher auch nicht, wie der Schnitt so ausfällt.

I like the raglan sleeves and the big lapels. The problem is that i do have this pattern only in size 40 (i'm a size 34) and that i have to downgrade the pattern which i haven't done before. Furthermore, i've never made a Lekkala pattern and don't know how the pattern sizing is.

Oh, und bevor ich es vergesse ... hier ist ein Foto von dem Stoff, einem wunderschönen Mantel-Wollstoff mit Kaschmiranteil (80%Wolle, 10%Poly, 10%Kaschmir):

Oh, and before i forget about it, here is a picture of my fabric. It's a wonderful soft and cosy wool with some cashmere in it (80%woll, 10% poly, 10% cashmere):

2. Burda 11-2007-107 in RED

Als Outfit für den Heiligabend plane ich ein rotes Wollkleid. Dann kann ich notfalls auch als Weihnachtsmann einspringen ;-) Der Stoff ist ein knallroter Wollstretch von Strenesse (siehe Bild oben, rechte Seite). Ich würde gerne ein Kleid daraus nähen, dass ich dann mit Cardigan und Stiefeln anziehen kann. Da die Farbe Hingucker genug ist, sollte der Stoff schlicht sein. Momentan denke ich an Burda 11-2007-107. Den Schnitt habe ich hier schon einmal mit Erfolg genäht. Ich würde das Kleid dieses Mal nur etwas kürzer nähen.

For Christmas eve i'm planning a red dress. So i can play a Santa Claus double :-) The fabric is a fire engine red Wool stretch by Strenesse (on the right side on the picture above). I want to wear the dress with boots and a cardigan. Because the color is such an eyecatcher the pattern can and should be very simple. Right now, i favor Burda 11-2007-107 which i successfully made before here. I think this time i would only shorten the dress a little bit.

3. Burda 09-2007-121 aus pinkfarbenem Punta di Roma

Das hier ist ein Oldie-but-Goldie: Burda 09-2007-121. Das Kleid haben eine Reihe von Hobby-Schneiderinnen erfolgreich und mit tollen Ergebnissen genäht (siehe hier). Irgendwie habe ich es verschlafen, den Schnitt zu nähen als er rauskam. Aber nach schlappen 3 (!!!) Jahren schaffe ich es ja vielleicht auch ... Betonung liegt auf vielleicht :-)

The next one is a oldie-but-goldie: Burda 09-2007-121. Several sewists made it already with great succes (see here). I somehow didn't manage to sew this pattern when it came out. But maybe after 3 (!!!) years i can do it now .... the emphasize is on "maybe" :-)

4. Patrones 272-34 aus camelfarbenem Punta di Roma

Ist das Kleid nicht bezaubernd. So herrlich ladylike! Okay, angedacht ist das Ganze in einem camelfarbenen Punta di Roma. Hmmmm ..... vielleicht nicht die richtige Stoffwahl, aber darüber lässt sich ja noch reden ......

I think the dress is adorable, isn't it? It's so retro and ladylike! I thought that i can maybe sew it in a camel Punte di Roma. Ummhhh .... but maybe that's not the best fabric choice. Fortunately, that's something i still can change ......

5. Vogue 1087 aus grauem Punta di Roma

Und dann habe ich noch einen mausgrauen Punta di Roma, der darauf wartet, verarbeitet zu werden.

And then i still have this lightgray Punte di Roma, which waits to be sewn into something nice and beautiful.

Vielleicht wage ich mich ja endlich an diesen Schnitt heran:

6.Burda 06-2010-109 aus bordeaux-farbenem Punta di Roma

Aus dem bordeaufarbenen Stoff (linkes Bild, rechte Seite) soll ebenfalls ein bequemes Kleid werden, dass mich durch den Tag begleitet.

I want to make another comfortable knit dress from the fabric on the right side of the left image.

Mein Stoff hat übrigens dieselbe Farbe wie dieses Kleid:

Im Auge habe ich dafür Burda 06-2010-109. Ja, die Ähnlichkeit bei der Schnittauswahl ist durchaus gewollt :-)

I was thinking of Burda 06-2009-109. And yes, the similarity regarding the pattern choice is wanted :-)

Aus dem braunen Jersey auf der linken Seite soll ein Rolli werden (Burda 09-2010-121) und der geblümte Jersey auf der rechten Seite soll mal zu einem Kleid vernäht werden. Da konnte ich mich aber noch nicht auf einen Schnitt festlegen.

The brown jersey on the left side is going to be a simple turtleneck (Burda 09-2010-121) and the flowered jersey on the right side should be a matching dress. But i couldn't settle on a pattern for a dress yet.

So, das sollte mich eine Weile beschäftigt halten *lach*. Und wenn mir wider Erwarten langweilig werden sollte, habe ich noch den ein oder anderen Jersey für Tops und T-Shirts in meinem Lager :-) Also mal sehen, wie viel ich tatsächlich schaffen werde. Aber keine Bange, ich halte Euch garantiert auf dem Laufenden!

I think that should keep me busy for a time *smile*. And if i get bored -against once's expectations - i still have a few Jersey's in my stash such that i can sew some winter tops :-) So we will see how much i will really manage to sew. But i promise i will keep you up to date!
