Mad (Wo)Men

Unfortunately, we're back in time here in God Ol' Germany concerning the current TV shows .... right now you can see these wonderful 50ies and 60ies inspired dresses everywhere ... in the TV show Mad Men or an the catwalks around the world ... time to get my hands on one of my wonderful vintage patterns and give it a try ......

I've blogged here how i found the patterns ... and this is the dress of my choice:

It's a wonderful feminine and artful dress with a plunging neckline and draping at one side. I will sew it from a black ponte di roma. I think this is a safe solution since i don't know much about the sizing of the pattern and this kind of fabric is quite forgiving. Furthermore, it is wonderful soft and comfortable .....

*Sigh* and this is what hobby seamstress had to fight with back then .... compared to that the new Burda pattern sheets are harmless ....

.... and also the instructions are not very detailled .....

But that can't hold me back! Ready, set, go!

ooh that dress is GORGEOUS! I would've jumped at the chance to sew it, too. And those pattern sheets look exactly like Manequim magazine! Just take it slow and you'll be fine. :)
