Danke!

First of all, i want to say thank you again for all your compliments on my last project: My lace white top. Thank you!

So, here we go. At the weekend i've started my next project for my holiday wardrobe: White pants. If you read my blog for a longer time, you know that i usually don't sew pants. And there is a simple reason for that: I simply can't do it! So, this time i've choosen Burda 10-2008-132. And the result is ....... a total wadder: Terrible fitting, wrinkles everywhere and it's the opposite of flattering.

Nun gut, ich habe lange nachgedacht, ob ich überhaupt Photos posten soll .... nach langen hin und her ... hier also die Fotos zur allgemeinen Belustigung:

I was thinking if i should post pictures or not ...... after some back and forth .... here are pictures for your public amusement:

I think we all have our defeats every now and then. I think i won't sew pants any time soon. It's simply too frustrating for me. So now i have to go through my stash, pick some fabric and start something new and hopefully more successful.

Villeicht schöpft du dann neuen Mut?

I actually don't think the pants are so bad. They look very good from the front, and fit about as well as most ready to wear pants in the back. I am not very experienced with fitting trousers, so I cannot offer any advice, sadly.

Well, I don´t really see any flaws... are they too wide for you? that could be fixed easily. It´s important what they do while you move... but just like this they look ok :)

I agree with Karin the front is fitting very good. I think you need just to do some fitting on the back. I will try and look up some photos from my pant fitting books and see if there is any ideas for you. Don't throw them out! The first thing to do is compare the back to a well fitting pant you bought and see where the difference is. Preservere!! Sue

Kopf hoch!!!

Also ich weiß gar nicht was Du hast!

I am so scared of pants. I feel you.

As a person who is now on pants muslin number 7, I feel you. That being said, these actually look better than what I've got. The front is good. The back is not bad at all. It's better than some RTW I've seen. And, I think if you hadn't said anything, I don't know that I would have noticed anything wrong with them at all.

Thank you all for your nice words. But truly, the pants are terrible. I really don't feel comfortable in them (and i think that's all that counts).

@janul: I don't like the wrinkles directly below my back. And taking out some width makes it even worse. I've tried that.

I agree with all of you. The front isn't bad. It's all about the back.

I think i will stick with my dresses and jackets for the next time!

Best wishes, Senas
