Sommer-Schnäppchen

Hallo meine lieben Leser!
Vielen Dank für die aufmunternden Kommentare und Tipps zu meinem verhunzten Rock. Da einige von Euch ebenfalls in Erwägung gezogen haben, diesen Rock zu nähen, möchte ich Euch nicht vorenthalten, dass Sabine den Rock ebenfalls mit gleichem Ergebnis genäht hat und eine Lösung für das Saumproblem gefunden hat. Vielen Dank, liebe Sabine, dass Du uns an Deiner Lösung teilhaben lässt:

"Statt der von Burda empfohlenen 90° Drehung habe ich die beiden Rockteile nur um die Hälfte (also 45°) gedreht. Jetzt sieht der Rock aus, wie auf der Abbildung und der Saumabschluss ist nun auch gerade, Da zipfelt nichts mehr und er lässt sich so auch viel bequemer tragen."

Dear readers,
thank you all for your comments and advices for my screwed up-skirt. Some of you have planned to sew this skirt, too. So, i want to let you know, that Sabine from Sonoemi found a solution for the bulky-seam-problem. Dear Sabine, thank you for sharing this with us:

"Instead of the 90° twist, i made only a 45° twist. The skirt looks now as on the picture from the magazine and the seam is straight as well. It is also more comfortable to wear." (translation based on Sabine's comment)

So, kommen wir nun zu erfreulicheren Themen als TFT's .... Meine Stofflager sind zwar gut gefüllt und der Platz in meinem Kleider/Stoffschrank wird knapp, aber an diesen Schönheiten (und Schnäppchen) konnte ich einfach nicht tatenlos vorbeigehen :-)

Let's skip to something more joyful then my wadder skirt .... even though i have a well-filled stash and i'm running out of space in my closet, i couldn't leave these beauties (and bargains) without a good and caring home :-)

1m geblümter Feinstrick, leicht transparent, weich fallend, vermutlich ein Baumwoll-Poly-Gemisch, für 3 Euro. Der Stoff hat mich sofort angelacht und musste einfach mit. Ich denke, ich werde ein Sommer-Top daraus nähen.

1m knit fabric, with a nice flower print, semi see-through, nice draping, probably a Cotton-Poly-Mix, for 3 Euro. It was love at first sight and i just had to have it. I think, it will make a nice summer top.

1m geblümter Stretch-Satin in rosé/apricot. Der Stoff ist vermutlich auch ein Baumwoll-Poly-Gemisch, aber eine gute Qualität und nicht so ein billiger Karnevals-Satin und hat insgesamt 3 Euro gekostet. Verplant habe ich den Stoff ebenfalls für ein Sommer-Top.

1m pink/apricot stretch satin with a flower print. The fabric is probably a Cottin-Poly-mix as well. It was only 3 Euros, but it is a nice quality and does not look cheap like these Carneval or Halloweeen satins. I've planned to make it into a summer top, too.

1m Chiffon in weiß mit großen, grauen Punkten. Nichts Besonderes, aber ganz süß und für ebenfalls 3 Euro musste der einfach mit. Daraus wird bestimmt ein schönes, luftiges Sommer-Top.

1m chiffon in white with big gray dots. Nothing breath-taking but cute and cheap for only 3 Euros. I think it will be a cute and summery top.

1m Strickstoff im Stil von Missoni in grau-schwarz. Der Stoff hat definitiv mehr Baumwolle als Polyester, aber die genaue Materialzusammensetzung kenne ich leider nicht. Der Stoff hat mich ebenfalls schlappe 3 Euro gekostet. Mal sehen, was ich damit anfangen kann .....

1m knit fabric a la Missoni in gray-black. The fabric has definetly more Cotton then Polyester in it, but i do nt know the exact composition. It was 3 Euros as well. We will see what i will make out of it ....

Und zu guter Letzt, mein schönster Fund: 3m karierter Metallic-Stoff für insgesamt 9 Euro. Der Stoff hat ein schönes und sattes Grün als Grundfarbe mit grauen und weißen Streifen. Er hat einen leichten Stand und einen tollen und edlen Glanz. Daraus soll im Herbst ein Trenchcoat a la Burberry werden. Ich freu mich drauf! Jaaa, ich weiß, ich habe eine leichte Trenchcoat-Fixierung ;-)

And last but not least my best bargain: 3m plaid fabric for only 9 Euros. It is a Cotton-Metallic-fabric. It has a nice and warm green color with gray and white stripes. It drapes so nicely and has a great and luxurious shine. It will become a trench a la Burberry for transition time. I'm really looking forward to sew this up! Yeeeah, i have fixation on trench coats right now :-)

Let's do the Twist ....

Auf Grund der brüllenden Hitze am Wochenende habe ich beschlossen, meinem Trenchcoat eine wohlverdiente Pause zu gönnen und mich lieber schnell und leicht zu nähenden Sommer Quickies zu widmen. Als erstes auf meiner Liste stand Burda 07-2010-108 aus dunkelblauem Fein-Jersey.

Ich bin zunächst nach Anleitung vorgegangen, mit dem Ergebnis, dass mein Saum an beiden Seiten in Zipfeln hinabhing. Also habe ich den Saum noch einmal aufgetrennt, den Dreh-Effekt verringert ... und immer noch sah das ganze bescheiden aus ... Also wieder auftrennen und nähen ... nach dem dritten Anlauf habe ich die Segel gestrichen ....

... or better don't :-(

Due to the high temperatures at the weekend, i paused my work on the trenchcoat and decided to sew some summer quickies. First on my list was Burda 07-2010-108 in a navy lightweight Jersey.

Initially, i followed the instructions to make the twisted bubble hem with the result that the fabric was hanging down on both sides (two bulky fabric corners). So, i ripped the seam, reduced the twist .... and it still looked ugly ... I ripped the seam again and gave it a third try ... but it still looked bad ... so i throw the towel .....

Zugegebener Weise offenbart sich auf den Fotos das ganze Ausmaß des Grauens nicht so wirklich ... aber das ist einfach nur ein Teil für die Tonne (TfT)!

I have to admit that the pictures do not look as bad as in real life ... this i sdefinetly a wadder, no doubt!
