Presseschau: Burda 02-2014

Kaum zu glauben, aber das neue Jahr ist schon wieder zwei Wochen alt und wir starten rein nähtechnisch in den Februar. Dann wollen wir mal sehen, was Burda für uns bereit hält:

Unbelievable but the new year is already two weeks old which brings us already the second Burda issue of 2014. So let's see what Burda has to offer: 

Rock, Modell 106

Rock 106 hat mit den Passen und Kellerfalten interessante Details und ist ein schöner Sommerrock mit viel Bewegungsfreiraum zum Picknicken und Fahrrad fahren. Den merke ich mir mal ....

I like this skirt with the pleats and inverted pleats. I think it will be a nice summer skirt which gives you room to move. I will keep it in mind for later ....

Bikerjacke, Modell 128

Bei diesem Outfit kann ich mal zum Rundumschlag ausholen ;-) Hier gefallen mir Jacke, Hose und Shirt. Nicht notwendigerweise in der Kombination und in der abgebildeten Farbe und/oder dem gewählten Stoff ... aber der Reihe nach.

Die Bikerjacke ist ganz nett. Ich mag den Stehkragen und die Schulterpassen (oder wie die Dinger heißen). Kmmt es zum Stechen, würde ich wohl Burda 01-2014-117 wählen, trotzdem ist dieses Modell ebenfalls ein schöner Schnitt. 

So this outfit has a lot for me. I like jacket, pants and top. Not neccessarily combined in one outfit and in this color and/or fabric ... but let's have a look one by one. 

I think this is again a nice Biker-style jacket. It has a stand up collar and shoulder patches. In direct competetion with the jacket from the January issue, Burda 01-2014-117 would probably win,  but nonetheless, it's a nice jacket pattern.

Bundfaltenhose, Modell 131

Ja, naja, bei der Hose bin ich erst einmal in Wartestellung. Ich weiß nicht recht, ob ich sie gut finde oder nicht. Sie ist mal was anderes. Ich befürchte hier ein wenig, dass sie nicht unbedingt ein Figurschmeichler ist und bei Otto-Normalverbraucherin etwas seltsam anmuten wird. Ich werde mal schauen, ob sie irgendwann in diversen Foren oder Blogs auftaucht und wie dann der Realitätscheck ist ....

I'm undecided when it comes to these pants. Somehow i like them .... It's definelty not the usual Burda pants pattern. I'm afraid that they won't be flattering on most of the bodytypes. I think i will wait, if they will pop up somewhere in bloggerland and if they pass the reality check ....

Shirt, Modell 130

Und zu guter Letzt gibt es noch ein ganz Nettes Top mit Knoteneffekt-Kragen. Ganz nett.

And last but not least, there is a nice top with draping at the neckline. Nice!

Fazit:

Eine gute und solide Ausgabe. Es sind keine Lechz-das-will-ich-haben-Teile für mich dabei, aber immerhin vier Schnittmuster, die in der Zukunft einen zweiten Blick verdienen. 

Conclusion:

This is a solid issue. There is no i.need-to-have-it-pattern there for me, but four patterns which have potential and may get a second view in the future.

Presseschau: Burda 01-2014

Und wie vermutet, war meine Presseschau gestern in allerletzter Minute bevor dann heute die Januar-Ausgabe eingetroffen ist. Dann legen wir mal los!

As i assumed, my review of the December issue was last minute. Today, the January issue arrived. So, let's continue with the Burda review!

Modell 122:

Oh, ich liebe das Top. Das Top ist genau mein Ding: Ich mag die Raglanärmel und die Raffungen an einem Ärmel und einer Seitennaht. Das werde ich definitiv nähe. Ich werde dann auch gleich mal losstürmen, um passenden Stoff zu kaufen. Bei mir wird es wohl erst einmal eine Version in uni werden. 

I absolutely love this Top. It is totally me. I love the raglan sleeves and the draping at the side seam and shoulder seam. This is next on my to-sew-list. Need to go and buy fabric for this top. I think i'm going to make this in a plain color.

Modell 117:

Ich liebe diese Jacke. Okay, der Bikerjacken-Trend grassiert ja schon eine ganze Weile. Ich gehöre wohl nicht wirklich zu denen, die schnell auf Trends aufspringen. Aber diese Jacke hat's mir angetan. Ich liebe die Absteppungen an den Schultern, den doppelten Reissverschluss vorne. Die will muss ich haben :-)

I love this jacket. The biker jacket trend is on for a while now. But i'm not really an early adopter. But i love this jacket. I like the topstitching at the shoulders and the double zipper closure in the front. I want need to have this jacket :-)

Im Endeffekt sind das "nur" zwei Schnitt in diesem Heft. Aber diese haben absoluten Haben-Will-Charakter, so dass sich dieses Heft für mich voll rentiert!

In Conclusion this issue  contains "only" two patterns for me. But those two patterns are true must-haves for me. So this issue is a winner for me!

Presseschau: Burda 12-2013

Oh oh, jetzt aber schnell, bevor das nächste Heft in meinem Briefkasten landet..... wahrscheinlich habe ich die Presseschau so lange vor mir hergeschoben, weil ich die aktuelle Ausgabe wenig inspirierend fand ....

Oh oh, hurry hurry, or the next issue is already in my mailbox ..... maybe i'm so late with this review because this issue was so uninspiring to me ....

Modell 101: 

Eigentlich ist dieser Trenchcoat das einzige Modell aus dieser Ausgabe, das mir gefällt. Für's Frühjahr möchte ich mir unbedingt einen Trenchcoat nähen. Allerdings tendiere ich momentan zu einer klassischeren Variante à la Burberry. Aber dieser hier ist nicht schlecht..... Ich mag, die Taschenklappen, die ein bißchen wie bei einem Schößchen aufspringen ....

I think this is the  only pattern in the whole issue that i like. I plan to make myself a trenchcoat for this  spring. However, right now i tend to a more classy version à la Burberry. But i think this pattern is not bad .... I like the peplum like pocket flaps ....

Modell 134 und 136:

Leider in Plusgröße. Aber dieses Kostüm gefällt mir sehr, sehr gut. Klassisch und sehr schlicht und die Farbe ist auch toll. Schade, Schokolade......nicht meine Größe :-(

Unfortunately, this is a plus size pattern. I really like this suit. It's classy with simple design lines and it looks gorgeous in this bold red......but not my size :-(

Tja, und das war es auch schon. Magere Ausbeute, nicht wahr?!?

And that's it for this issue. Not much at all, right?!?

Presseschau: Burda 11-2013

Nach einer längeren Abstinenz, möchte ich meine monatliche Burda-Besprechung wieder aufleben lassen. Allerdings werde ich auf das sonst so beliebte "Burda-Bashing" verzichten. Gedacht ist das Ganze eher als Notiz an mich selbst: Ich schreibe jeden Monat auf, welche Schnitte ich mag. Und so kann ich jederzeit schnell und einfach auf diese Notizen zurückgreifen. 

Los geht's schnell mit der November-Ausgabe, bevor die Dezember-Ausgabe schon wieder da ist:

After a longer break, i want to revive my monthly Burda review. However, i won't do the usual Burda bashing. My idea is to use it as a note to myself: I write down what i like and can come back to it fast and easy. 

So, let's quickly start with the November issue before the December issue is already here:

Modell 103. Bild von Burdastyle.de

Nicht spektakulär. Ich finde aber die Bluse hat Potenzial und lässt sich bestimmt gut kombinieren. Insbesondere weil ich im Winter gerne Strickjacken anziehe und dann Bedarf für "was drunter" habe.

Not spectacular. But i think the blouse has potential and would be a great wardrobe staple, especially because i like to wear cardigans in winter and always need something for underneath.

Das Oberteil sieht auf dem Foto toll aus. Schön ist auch, dass der Schnitt Teilungsnähte hat. Dadurch ist das Oberteil schön auf Figur geschnitten. Dann habe ich aber gesehen, dass es sich um Oberteil und einen Loop (getrennt davon) handelt. Ich sehe da die Gefahr, dass ich die ganze Zeit nur am Zuppeln bin, damit alles an Ort und Stelle bleibt. Man könnte natürlich auch den Loop entsprechend am Oberteil fixieren ... Naja, der Schnitt kommt erst einmal auf die Merkliste......

The Top looks great on the picture. Love that it has shaping seams and thus, can be fitted. But then i looked at the technical drawing and saw, that it is actually a top and a loop. I can see myself already busy keeping everything on its place.  But maybe you can stitch the loop onto the top to avoid this problem ..... So, i put the pattern onto my list ......we will see .....

Hier mag ich die Raffungen entlang der Teilungsnaht vorne. Das könnte ein schönes Winterkleid geben.

I like the gathering in the front. This could be a nice winter dress.

Das Designermodell der Novemberausgabe stammt von Jo No Fui. Ich kannte das Label vorher nicht, finde allerdings, dass der gesamte Look in seiner Schlichtheit seinen Reiz hat. Die Bluse ist eigentlich wie Modell 103 oben: Nicht spektakulär, aber ein schönes Basic-Teil.Der Rock ist schön, passt aber nicht so ganz zu mir und meinem Lebensstil.

This months designer pattern is from a label called Jo No Fui. Didn't know the label before. But i do like the outfit in its simplicity. The top is like model 103: Not spectacular, but a nice basic garment.The skirt is nice but it doesn't work for me nor my lifestyle.

Presseschau: Burda 03-2011

Opps, da habe ich wohl die Presseschau ganz verschlafen. Nun aber schnell, bevor die nächste Ausgabe im Briefkasten liegt ......

Kleid 110

Das Kleid ist ganz nett mit den Raffungen vorne und der kleinen Schleife am Ausschnitt.

A nice dress. I like the front gathering and the small tie at the neckline.



Jacke 115

Die Jacke ist ganz nett. Das angesetzte Schößchen und die leichte Puffärmel sind ganz hübsche Details.

This jackets has some nice details as a small peplum and little princess sleeves.



Jacke 120

Ich glaube, dies ist nur eine Variante der Jacke 115. Dieses Mal ohne Puffärmel, dafür aber mit Schößchen und abgerundeter Revers-Form.

I think this is a variation of jacket 115. This one is without princess sleeves but instead with a stronger peplum and rounded lapels.


Flirt mit der Sonne

Hier ist so wirklich gar nichts für mich dabei. Walle-Walle-Kleider und Batik-Prints. Sorry, einfach nicht mein Stil.

Nothing in there for my taste. Boxy dresses and batik prints. Sorry, just not my style.

Casual Friday

Och Menno, schon wieder nichts für mich.

Sigh, again nothing i like.

Fazit:
Tja, wahrscheinlich habe ich die Presseschau auch nur verpennt, weil ich die Ausgabe so unglaublich unspektakulär fand. Mal wieder eine Ausgabe ohne Glanz und Gloria. Nun gut, mein Abo läuft ja nicht mehr ganz so lange. Also, liebe Burda, nicht mehr viel Zeit, mich vom Gegenteil zu überzeugen. Gebt Euer Bestes! Bitte!

Conclusion:
Probably, i've missed the Burda review, because it's again such a boring issue. Nothing that catches my eye and makes me want to sew it. However, my subscription ends soon. So dear Burda, not much time left to make me change my mind. So please, hurry up!

Presseschau: Burda 02-2011

Hallo, meine lieben Leser! Nein, ich bin nicht vom Erdboden verschwunden ... mich gibt es noch. Und zum Beweis, eröffnen wir doch mal schnell die nächste Lästerrunde über die Februar-Burda .... bevor es zu spät ist und März-Ausgabe da ist.

Dear readers, i didn't fell off the face of earth .... i'm still here. And to prove it, let's start with the review of the current February issue of Burda ..... before it's too late and the March-Burda is already here.

Neue Talente
Burda wartet mit einer interessanten Farb-Kombi auf: Neon und Grau .... und ich muss sagen, dass ich die Kombi gar nicht mal so schlecht finde. Allerdings kaufe ich mir mit der Burda ja ein Schnittmuster-Magazin und keine Farbberatung .... also, schauen wir doch mal auf die Schnitte ...... und nöööö, da reisst mich so wirklich gar nichts vom Hocker.

Burda starts with an interesting color combination: Neon and gray .... and i have to say, that i like those colors mixed up. But i do buy a pattern magazine and not a color consultancy ... so let's take a look at the patterns ..... nooo, nothing in there for me.

Mamma mia!
Ahhhhh ...... das ist doch schon viel mehr nach meinem Geschmack. Während mir bei dem vorherigen Thema kein einziges Teil gefiel, gefällt mir hier jedes einzelne.

Ahhhh ... this is more my taste. Since i didn't like one single pattern from the first topic, i like all of the patterns from this topic.

Kleid 104

Los geht's mit einem wunderbar sommerlichem und femininem Kleid. Oben eng anliegend und figurbetonte mit einem weit schwingendem angesetzten Rockteil. Ja, und auch die Stoffauswahl gefällt mir.

First, there is this wonderful summery and feminine dress. Close fitting at the top and with a full skirt. And i also do like the fabric choice.

Kleid 101

Dieses Kleid ist eine leichte Variation von dem vorherigen Kleid. Aber dieses gefällt mir sogar noch besser, da es durch die kleinen "Ärmelchen" schulterbedeckt ist. Und die Stoffauswahl ist wirklich sehr schön. Das kommt auf meine Zu-Nähen-Liste.

This dress is a variation of the dress above. But i do like this one even more, due to the "sleeves". Thus the shoulders are covered which makes this dress even more wearable at work. And the fabric choice is beautiful as well. This made it onto my to-sew-list.

Korsage 113

Okay, diese Korsage passt weder zu mir noch zu meinem Kleidungsstil ..... Nichtsdestotrotz finde ich es toll, dass die Burda sich von den ewigen Basics hin zu Designer-inspirierten Looks bewegt. Hier hat sich jemand definitiv von Louis Vuitton inspirieren lassen:

Okay, this corsage doesn't reflect neither my personal style .... Nonetheless, i like that Burda creates runway-inspired looks (and not always the same basics). And here, someone definetly got inspired by Louis Vuitton:

Rock 103

Auf den ersten Blick dachte ich "Oh, mal wieder ein Bleistiftrock" ... aber ein Blick auf die technische Zeichnung offenbart ein schönes und verspieltes Detail hinten. Hübsch!

At first sight, i thought "Oh, yet another pencil skirt" ... but a look at the technical drawing revealed a very nice and flirty detail at the back. Beautiful!

Best of Safari

Tja, same procedure as every year ... alle Jahre wieder gibt's das Safari-Thema bei Burda (Hmmhhh, zusammen mit dem Marine-Stil ein ewiger Dauerbrenner). Nun gut ...... aber auch hier ist rein gar nichts dabei, das mir zusagt.

Sigh, same procedure as every year .... again with the "Sailor Sytle" Burda presents us the Safari Sytle. Anyhow, no pattern that catches my eye here.

Klasse für sich
Mensch, da habe wir ja alle Glück gehabt: Safari und Marine in einem Heft :-D Alle Jahre wieder gibt's den Marine-Stil. Und nein, wieder nichts für mich dabei.

Wow, this time we're lucky: Safari and Sailor style in one issue :-D And again nothing in there for me.

Fazit:
Da hat Burda aber Glück gehabt. Die Mamma Mia!-Serie reisst alles raus. Die Modelle sind einfach so schööön und super-feminin und wie man sieht, trotzdem topmodern. Aber alle anderen Schnitte sind einfach nur Blaaaaa ....

Conclusion:
Burda was lucky. The Mamma Mia!-topic really makes this issue. All patterns and garments are very beautiful and feminine and very trendy. You can see this style everywhere on the runways. But all the other patterns are just blaaa .....

Presseschau: 01-2011

Die ersten Tagen meines Nähurlaubs sind rum .... und ich habe nicht viel getan außer lesen, fernsehen und vieeel schlafen. Irgendwie war ich einfach nur müde und antriebslos und wollte mich auch nicht zum Nähen zwingen. Da traf es sich ja ganz gut, dass die Januar-Burda eingetrudelt ist und ich sie in aller Seelenruhe auf der Couch durchblättern konnte. Dann wollen wir doch mal sehen ....

The first days of my sewcation are gone ...... and i didn't do much except reading, watching TV and a lot of sleeping. I didn't felt like sewing and didn't want to force myself to. But the January-Burda arrived. So let's see what we've got ......

Verführung pur

... im Stile der 40er Jahre verspricht uns die erste Modestrecke. Ich mag die Inszenierung der Bilder .....

The first topic is fashion inspired by the 40ies. I love the setting and mood of the pictures .....

Rock 114


Mantel 101

.... aber rein Schnittmuster-technisch sind die Modelle oben einfach nichts für mich. An dem ranken und schlanken Model sehen die Teile ja schön aus, bei meiner Körpergröße dürfte das Ganze aber auch schon wieder ganz anders aussehen.

... but regarding the patterns there is not much in for me. The clothes look nice and beautiful on the slim and tall model, but i dont think they would look good on me with my body size as well.

Kleid 103

Ein Schnitt ist jedoch auch für mich dabei: Kleid 103. Ich finde es sehr schön, besonders die Flügelärmelchen und die Schulterpasse .... so schön feminin und verspielt.

But there is one pattern i actually do like: It's dress 103. I like the sleeves and the shoulder yokes ... it's really feminine and flirty.

Ich bleib daheim

.... ist das Motto des nächsten Themas (und könnte auch das Leitmotiv von meinem Weihnachtsurlaub sein ;-) ).

The title of the next topic is "stay at home". This could actually also be the motto of my sewcation ;-)

Hose 124B und Top 120B

Wie dem auch sei, diese Kombi ist fürchterlich. Diesem ganzen Trend mit diesen Harems-/Jodphur- bzw. Sarouel-Hosen (oder wie immer diese Dinger mit tief sitzendem Schritt und Windel-Popo heißen mögen) kann ich einfach nichts abgewinnen - auch nicht für zu Hause auf der Couch. Und dieses Rocky-Balboa-Top macht es auch nicht gerade besser ....

Nonetheless, i think this combo is horrible. I really don't understand this Jodphur/Sarouel trend (or whatever these pants with a low crotch and diaper back are called) - not even for an evening on the couch at home. And this Rocky-Balboa-Top makes it even worse ......

Top 129A

Eigentlich mag ich diese Ausschnittform sehr. Was mir an diesem Schnittmuster jedoch nicht so gut gefällt, ist die "Kragenlösung" und die Falten die sich dadurch auch vorne bilden. Nun gut, das ist wahrscheinlich Geschmackssache und ließe sich mit nur wenigen Änderungen am Schnittmuster beheben.

I like this kind of neckline. But what i dislike is the "collar" and the wrinkles it causes at the upper front pieces. However, this is probably a matter of taste and can be eliminated with small changes an the pattern.

Longshirt 123B
Okay, noch ein "Basic". Dieses hier ist allerdings so basic, dass ich mich allen Ernstes frage, ob ich tatsächlich ein Schnittmuster dafür brauche ....

Alright, there is another basic. But actually it's so basic that i really don't understand why i need a pattern for it .....

Widmen wir uns also dem nächsten Thema ....

Mantel 126A

Der Mantel sieht so schön kuschelig und gemütlich aus. Allerdings habe ich eine Art Déjà-vu. Kommt mir irgendwie bekannt vor .... mir fallen da spontan Burda 12-2009-119 und Burda 10-2010-107 ein. Zugegebenermaßen sind die Schnitte nicht identisch, aber doch sehr ähnlich vom Stil her.

This coat looks cozy and comfortable. But i have i slight feeling of a Déjà-vu. Somehow i've got the feeling that i know this pattern already ... ahhh, Burda 12-2009-119 and Burda 10-2010-107 are popping up in my mind. Admittedly, the pattern are not identical, but they are the same style.

Top 122

Der Pulli gefällt mir. Wenn man sich allerdings die technische Zeichnung anschaut, sieht man, dass er nichts anderes als ein einfaches Shirt mit angesetztem Schal ist. Stellt sich mir also wieder die Frage, ob ich für so etwas unbedingt ein Schnittmuster benötige .....

I also like this top. But if you have a closer look at the technical drawing you will see that's just a simple top with an attached scarf. Again my question, if i really need a pattern for this .....

Die Farbe Blau

Neee, hier ist so überhaupt gar nichts für mich dabei .....

Fazit:
Hmmmhhh .... das ist so eine Ausgabe mit vielen, vielen Basics. Nur blöd, dass ich nach über einem Jahr Burda-Abo mehr als genug Basic-Schnitte habe und mich sowas einfach nicht vom Hocker haut ......

Conclusion:
Ummmhhh .... this is an issue with a lot of basics. The problem for me is, that after more as a year of Burda-subscription i have more than enough basic pattern and want something more elaborated .......

Presseschau: Burda 12-2010

Wie die Zeit vergeht?! Die Dezember-Burda liegt hier vor mir und kündigt bereits das Ende des Jahres 2010 an .... unglaublich ...... nun gut, zurück zum Theman .... same procedure as every month :-)

Unbelievable, how time flies by?! The December issue of Burda magazine has arrived and pronounces the end of the year 2010 .... *sigh* ... well, back to the topic ... and let's start with the same procedure as every month :-)

Wildromantisch

... starten wir also in den Dezember. Und die erste Fotostrecke kündigt auch sogleich eine Neuheit an: Die Modelle sind als Fertigteile zu erwerben. Hmmmhh, solange das nicht das Ende der Schnittmuster bedeutet, ist mir das also egal! Viel bedauerlicher finde ich jedoch, dass mir in der kompletten Modestrecke kein einziger Schnitt gefällt.

It starts wild-romantic. And the first theme shows us Burda's newest invention: You can buy the shown garments as RTW pieces exactly as shown on the pictures. Ummhhh, as long as this doesn't mean the end of the patterns, i actually don't mind. More concerning for me is that i don't like one single pattern here.


Kleid 102
Am ehesten sagt mir noch dieses Denver-Clan-Revival-Kleid zu. Auf meine To-Do-Liste schafft es der Schnitt aber noch lange nicht. Dazu gibt es einfach viel zu viele andere und schönere Schnitte .....

Maybe this Denver Clan revival dress is not too bad. Nonetheless, there is no way this gonna make it onto my to do list. There are too many other and more beautiful dresses that want to be sewn ....

Reich & Schön

.... ist der Titel des nächsten Themas mit starken Anleihen an der 80ern. Leider ist keiner der gezeigten Schnitte - nach meinem Empfinden - schön. Im Gegenteil, einige der Modelle sind mehr als grenzwertig.

Rich & Beautiful is the title of the next theme which is highly influenced by the eighties. Unfortunately, IMHO none of the shown patterns is really "beautiful". Even contrary, Burda is back on the weirdo track .... some of the patterns are even ugly.


Kleid 119
Nehmen wir zum Beispiel dieses Kleid hier. In meinen Augen sieht das Kleid so aus, als hätte jemand mit einem leichten Fetisch wahllos Stoff aneinander getackert. Ich sehe da überhaupt keine klaren Linien oder irgendein Konzept. Und was zur Hölle soll diese seltsame Stoffaussparung an der Schulter?!

As for example this dress. I think it looks like someone with a slight fetish has put together some fabric - without any concept, without any clear lines. And what the heck, is going on with this cut out at the shoulder?!


Overall 118
Neeee, fürchterlich. Unvorteilhafter Schnitt, schreckliche Stoffwahl und unschön in Szene gesetzt. Seht Euch doch nur einmal an, wie unvorteilhaft der Schnitt an dem schlanken Model aussieht!? Okay, und jetzt überlegt mal, wie der Overall an Lieschen Müller mit durchschnittlichem Körperbau und Rundungen aussieht .... genau ... muss man nicht haben!

Phew, horrible. Unflattering pattern, terrifying fabric choice and the picture is bad, too. Just take a look how unflattering the hips of the super thin model look like on the picture?! See? Alright, now picture this on an average weighted woman with curves and hips .... right .... not the best choice!

Dresscode: Smart

.... eine extrem schlecht sitzende und unvorteilhafte Hose .... nein, nicht wirklich ....

Bluse 121 und Kleid 122
.... also die Rüsche finde ich ganz schön. Ja, das könnte ich mir vorstellen ... wobei ich sagen muss, dass das Kleid extrem sackartig geschnitten ist. Ich persönlich würde also nur die Rüsche übernehmen und mit einem anderen, figurbetonterem Schnitt kombinieren ..... wobei ich zugeben muss, dass ich nur für eine Rüsche keinen Schnitt brauche, die kann ich mir auch selber basteln .....

.... i like the ruffle. I can imagine this style .... but i have to say, that the dress is too boxy for my taste. I think i would take the ruffle and use it with a different pattern. Something that's closer fitted ..... and then i have to say that i don't need a pattern to sew a ruffle. I can draft that on my own ......

Fazit:
Ein durch und durch schwache Ausgabe. Für mich war nicht ein Schnitt dabei, nicht einer!!!!! Noch nicht mal unter der Kategorie Nett-Nur-Nicht-Mein-Stil war ein Schnitt dabei. Neee, ich hoffe, die nächste Ausgabe stimmt mich wieder etwas versöhnlicher!

Conclusion:
All in all, a disappointing issue. Not one single pattern, not one, that i like to sew!!!! There wasn't even a pattern in the nice-but-not-my-style-category. I really hope that the next issue will be better!

Morgen geht es für mich und meinen Liebsten für ein Wochenende nach Amsterdam. Ich werde also keine Zeit zum Nähen finden, aber dafür kriege ich vielleicht die neue Knipmode und/oder das ein oder andere schöne textile Mitbringsel in die Hände. Ich wünsche Euch allen ein schönes Wochenende!

Tomorrow my DH and I will take off for a weekend in Amsterdam. So, there will be no sewing time for me. But maybe i can put my greedy little hands on the newest Knipmode magazine and/or on some textile souvenirs. I wish you all a happy weekend!

Während wir um die Welt gesegelt sind, ist die November-Burda erschienen und hat mich freudestrahelnd daheim willkommen geheißen. Dann wollen wir doch mal schauen .....

While we were travelling the world, the November issue of Burda was published and gave me a warm welcome when I arrived at home. So let's take a look ......

Einladung zum Tanz

Wie immer gegen Ende des Jahres wird es festlich. Nun gut, mein Bedarf an festlichen Kleidern ist eher gering, aber diese hier gefallen mir doch sehr gut:

The same procedure as every year. At the end of the year Burda is becoming festive. I don't have high demands for dressey clothes, but i like these two dresses:

Kleider 115 und 116

Ich mag wie der Stoff fällt und den romantischen Look. Leider ist der Schnitt nur für lange Größen. Vermutlich weil so ein Kleid bei meiner Körpergröße nicht so vorteilhaft ist. Ich werde mir den Schnitt dennoch mal im Hinterstübchen vermerken ....

I like how the fabric drapes and the romantic look. Unfortunately, the pattern comes in tall sizes. But that's probably because this dress isn't the most flattering look for a small person like me. However, i will keep it in my mind. You will never know ....

Warm ums Herz

Neee, irgendwie alles nicht so mein Ding ..... Just not my cup of tea ... on with the next .....

Chanel-Jäckchen 104

Der Schnitt gefällt mir und nachdem ich letztes Jahr die unglaublichen Chanel-inspirierten Kreationen anderer Schneiderinnen bewundern durfte, steht so ein Jäckchen auch auf meinem Plan.

I like the pattern. And after seeing all the amazing Chanel inspired creations by other sewists i really want one jacket, too.

Rock 113 A

Erstaunlich, was Farb- und Stoffwahl und das richtige Styling alles so bewirken können. Der Schnitt des Rockes in dem Wollstoff genäht, hat mich so gar nicht angesprochen. Aber hier in dunkelblau, mit der Ansteckblüte und dem asymmetrischen Top finde ich ihn sehr schön!

Funny, what a difference fabric, color and styling can make. The same skirt made in wool didn't appeal to me at all. But i like this one in navy with the attached flower at the waistband and the one-shoulder top!

Kleid 103

Schönes, schlichtes Kleid, das durch den Materialmix zum Hingucker wird. Ich würde zwar keinen Samt nehmen (bin da etwas traumatisiert. Ja, die 90er!), aber das Spiel mit transparenten und nicht transparenten Materialien finde icht sehr schön. Das sieht mir nach einem schnellen Projekt mit großer Wirkung aus.

This is a nice but yet simple dress. I wouldn't choose velvet (kind of trauma i have from the 90'ies), but i like the mix of transparent and not-transparent materials. And it looks like an instant gratification project.

Night & Day

Weiter geht's mit Blazer- bzw. Smoking-Schnitten ....

Smokingjacke 121

Schöner Schnitt. Sehr klassisch und edel und wie das Styling auf dem Foto zeigt, vielseitig tragbar ....

This is a nice pattern: Classy and sophisticated and as the styling on the picture shows very versatile ......

Spencer 130

Ebenfalls schöner Schnitt und toller Materialmix. Im direkten Vergleich favorisiere ich jedoch die Smoking-Jacke 121. Sie scheint mir irgendwie vielseitiger und langlebiger .....

This is also a nice jacket, and i really like the material-mix. But in direct competition i would choose the jacket 121. To me it seams more classy and versatile .......

Fazit:

Ich finde die Ausgabe "gut". Nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Ich werde mich also zurücklehnen und abwarten, was all ihr tollen Hobbyschneiderinnen für Meisterwerke aus den Schnitten zaubern werdet .... und dann werde ich froh sein, dass ich die Ausgabe in meiner Zeitschriftensammlung habe .....

Conclusion:

I think this is a "nice" issue. Nothing more, nothing less. I will just sit and wait and see what all you talented sewists create from these patterns ... and in the end, i will be glad to have this issue in my stash ....

Ein Outfit von Karl Lagerfeld


Los geht es mit Jacke und Rock von König Karl in dem von ihm gewohnten schwarz-weiß. Diese hochgeklappten Vorderteile sind ganz witzig und auch der Rock ist süß, aber irgendwie fühle ich mich zu alt dafür. Allerdings wäre das ein tolles Outfit für eine Sechzehnjährige – ausgefallen und raffiniert, ein wenig verspielt, ohne zu viel zu zeigen. Und wer weiß, vielleicht ist es die Rückkehr des Designerschnittes aus den früheren Heften?! Ich würde mich freuen …..

It starts with a jacket and a skirt from King Karl in his usual colors – black and white. The jacket has interesting front details and the skirt looks very cute. Nonetheless, I feel too old for this outfit. But I think it would be great for a sixteen-year old. It’s unusual, has clever design lines, is cute and does not show too much. And maybe it is the return of the Designer patterns?! I would be happy about it ….

Noch eine Jacke, die mir gefällt. Allerdings habe ich inzwischen so viele Jacken in meinem Schrank, dass ich echt keinen Bedarf mehr habe. Absoluter Aufnahmestopp für Jacken jeglicher Art :-) Ganz abgesehen davon, dass es bestimmt wieder detektivischer meisterarbeit bedarf, um so einen Fellersatz aufzutreiben.

Another jacket i do like. But I have already so many jackets, I do not need another one. Nonetheless, it would demand hard detective work to find a nice fake fur like this.


Jacke 108
Für diese Jacke könnte ich eine Ausnahme machen :-D Naja, auf meiner Liste steht noch eine klassische Jacke oder ein Mantel in Camel. Eines von diesen zeitlosen Teilen, die man 20 Jahre tragen kann, ohne dass sie je aus der Mode kommen. Und die ein treuer Begleiter und zu allem tragbar sind. Den Schnitt hier finde ich schon mal ganz gut. Mal schauen, ob ich mich letztendlich eher für einen Jacken- oder einen Mantelschnitt entscheide.

Maybe i would make an exception fort his one :-D I still have a classy jacket or coat in Camel on my To-Sew-List for fall/winter. One of those timeless pieces you can wear for years without looking old-fashioned. So, i will keep this jacket in mind when making my decision. Still don’t know if I will make a jacket or a coat.

Dieses Kleid ist einfach nur wunderschön. Der Schnitt ist toll und Farb- und Stoffwahl sind der Knüller!

This dress is simply adorable. It has such beautiful lines and color and fabric choice are just gorgeous!

Das Oberteil finde ich super. Hmhhh...ich hätte da schon den passenden Interlock in meinem Schrank liegen. Allerdings graut es mir vor dem Aufnähen von Pailletten oder Strass oder was auch immer .... ob ich dazu jemals die Motivation finden werde?

I really like this top. Hmmh ... i also do have the right knit fabric in my stash. However, i'm terrified of applying the trimming ... if i would ever find the motivation for that?


Kleid 132
Ich finde das Kleid mit seinen Drapierungen sehr schön. Meiner Meinung nach kommt das bei dem Stoff nicht ganz so gut raus, aber es ist raffiniert und dennoch sehr tragbar und alltagstauglich.

I like the draping of this dress. But IMO it would look even better in a different fabric. Anyway, the draping is quite subtle and the dress is very wearable.

Fazit:
Es war nciht die Beste aller Burdas, aber viel besser als die letzten Ausgaben. Für mich war das ein oder andere dabei. Und somit schlage ich vorerst wieder versöhnlichere Töne an.

Conclusion:
It wasn't the best Burda ever, but much better then the last issues. I liked a few patterms. And thus, i strike a more forgiving note.
